Wie die heutzutage in fast allen marktüblichen Personal Computern verbauten Hauptprozessoren, weisen auch die Intel CPUs die Von Neumann Architektur auf. Dieser Architektur ist es im Gegensatz zur Harvard Architektur zu eigen, keine strikte Trennung zwischen den Speichern für Daten und Programmcode zu verwenden. Für beides werden die gleichen Adress- und Speicherräume verwendet.
